Subject: KStep / KMotion Setup
Greetings,

I am making some progress in getting the Kstep up and running. I am currently running open loop, and am able to jog each axis on the "Step Response" Screen. I wanted to ensure that my C program was correct so I compiled and downloaded the sample program to the kflop "InitKStep3AxisNoDisable.c". Next I configured the three axis in the trajectory planner.

When I try to run a program from KMotion G-Code it gives the error "G Code Error G Codee aborted". Have I missed a step in the setup to cause this problem? I was hoping to watch my motors spin on the desk as it moves through the program. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks!

Scott

What G-Code file did you try running? Was it one of the ones that comes with the KFLOP or one you made? Can you attach it or a screen shot of KMotionCNC when you are getting the error?

Dan,

I opend the KMotion CNC application, and it runs from there. I may have misunderstood in thinking that I could run a GCode program directly from the KMotion utility. I am now able to run any of the sample CNC programs in KmmotionCNC. Am I correct that this functionality is not available in the setup utility?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

We recommend using KMotionCNC for running GCode as it has more functionality than the GCode Screen in KMotion.exe.  But no, the GCode Screen in KMotionCNC should be capable of running basic GCode.

Tom,

Are there any reasons that come to mind as to why it wont run from the GCode page? I will keep experimenting to see if I can figure something out.

Thanks,

Scott
